"An ingenious design." SEA KAYAKER

Key Features of the TRIAK vs. other designs:

  • All around great sailing performance
  • Spinnaker for awesome reaching and running speeds
  • Comfortable raised, bucket seat and dry cockpit
  • 7 cubic feet of dry storage with additional dry storage in the bow
  • High quality fiberglass, vinylester resin infused construction
  • Elegant design for quick assembly and time on/off the water
  • Ingenious rig design for performance & quick conversion to paddling

Integrated Design

The most attractive aspect of the TRIAK is the design and integration of it's 4 main components: hull, wing, and 2 amas. Tool-free assembly and disassembly via 4 hand bolts combined with a dynamic sail rig eliminates hassle and maximizes time on the water. The main hull unit with rigging is only 72-73 lbs. and the entire assembled boat is 95-100 lbs.

Hydrofoils & Hull

TRIAK's speed is a result of it's narrow, well designed hull. It glides through the water producing very little wake making its speeds deceptive. Key to the TRIAK's performance are the static hydrofoils attached to the outriggers. As the boat heels over the float/ama submerges through the water. The foil provides lift starting around 2-3 knots of boat speed and increases exponentially providing significant lift over 5 knots. Not only do the foils deliver great stability but they allow a manageable outrigger size. Instead of large 5-6' amas both TRIAK amas fit snuggly into the cockpit.

Rudder & Centerboard

A 2' deep pivoting centerboard is easily raised and lowered from the cockpit. A large, hydrodynamic rudder (not an aluminum blade) off the stern provides excellent maneuvering under sail and while paddling. An up-haul raises and lowers the rudder from the cockpit.
